A decade of online scribbles

Rowell is currently the Online Managing Editor for Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment and the Managing Editor of TheGreenGrok.com, a blog on sustainability and environmental science written by Dr. Bill Chameides, dean of the Nicholas School.

Prior to working for Duke, she wrote and edited content for Environmental Defense Fund, ABCNEWS.com, and FOXNEWS.com. She was an editor for Inside New York, a guidebook to New York City, and a copy editor for Scholastic.

Radio Producer

Six plus years of recording, reporting, producing, directing

Starting out as first an audio engineer and then as the technical director for a live news show, Rowell soon began producing. Reporting quickly followed.

From 1994-1997, while in graduate school, she was an on-call director for all of Monitor Radio's Early and Noon Editions, racking up another year and a half plus working in live radio.

Film and Video Producer

More than ten years of visual storytelling

Rowell has worked in the film industry for Interscope and HBO Films as well as on independent features. In her current position, she directs, shoots, and edits video for the Nicholas School.
